How to set up automatic marking on a laser marking machine

Laser marking machines perform automated marking, a function not supported by standard laser printers. Therefore, we require a CCD vision-based automatic marking machine—essentially a specialized vision system for conventional laser marking equipment—to achieve automated laser marking. Let's explore how to enable automatic marking with a laser marking machine.

A laser automatic marking machine requires a vision camera, vision light source, vision sensor, and automated conveyor line. Only with these components can automatic marking be achieved. Simply place products onto the machine's conveyor line for simultaneous feeding and output.

Additionally, configure the machine's vision software to set marking content, speed, and power parameters for automated operation.

Vision-guided laser marking machines achieve precise marking as long as products fall within the scanning range of the laser's scanning galvanometer. Even with varying product positions, accurate processing remains possible. This technology employs vision positioning principles: first creating a product template saved as a standard reference, then capturing images during processing. Through computer-based comparison and positional alignment, adjustments enable precise product processing. Processed products can be circular, square, or even irregularly shaped. This process is particularly suitable for small products, eliminating the need for positioning plates or fixed fixtures, significantly reducing the laser marking processing cycle.

Marking Vision System Introduction:

1. Vision recognition accuracy up to 0.01mm;

2. Coaxial vision imaging provides true-to-view observation, dynamically tracking deflection of the vibrating lens for real-time processing monitoring;

3. Automatic focusing completes within 3 seconds without manual adjustment;

4. Vision-based auto-positioning enables automatic recognition of 0–99 distinct product features and quantities, facilitating automatic capture and corresponding marking processing.

Marking Machine Vision Positioning System Features:

1. One-click auto-calibration links laser and vision coordinates;

2. One-click distortion correction for high-precision applications, calibrating vision lenses;

3. Adaptive auto-positioning mode: frame selection enables automatic positioning for single or multiple product marking;

4. Fixed or variable marking information (supports communication interfaces, ASCII conversion, binary, and hexadecimal modes);

5. Communication Support: IO, TCP/IP, RS232, RS485 protocols;

6. Wide camera imaging field of view for marking any flat products;

7. Automatic product recognition and marking at any angle and quantity;

8. Large-format product stitching marking achievable via rail control;

9. XYZ axes expandable based on actual product characteristics for fully automated vision-based positioning and marking.
