What problems can arise when using large laser cutting machines?

Do you know how to troubleshoot when a laser cutting machine fails to emit light during operation? Today, Tuoer Laser—a laser cutting machine manufacturer—will analyze this issue with you. What problems might arise when using large laser cutting machines? This question requires consideration of two scenarios:

(1) Laser machine fails to emit light upon startup

Check if the laser power switch (green switch) of the large laser cutting machine is in the ON position.

Check if the chiller is powered on. Verify that the chiller's output signal, control signal, and water protection signal are functioning normally.

Check if the laser tube is emitting light normally. Weak light (purple) indicates an abnormality; normal light should be pink. Verify that the laser tube's water flow rate is within specifications.

Inspect the machine's laser optical path. Press the laser activation button to observe if the laser tube illuminates. If the tube lights up but the laser head remains dark, the optical path is faulty.

Verify the status of the keypad panel lights. Inspect the machine's control panel to confirm the power setting is correct, or check if the computer software parameters are accurate.

  • For large laser cutting machines: Check if the laser power supply fan is rotating. If not, the power supply is not switching.

  • Directly inspect the laser output signal from the laser power supply. If output is present, the laser tube and power supply are functioning normally.

  • Verify the voltage is not below πvF-4020.

(2) Laser machine suddenly fails to emit light during operation:

Check if the chiller is triggering an alarm.

For large laser cutting machines:If an alarm occurs, connect the inlet and outlet ports at the rear of the water tank with a hose. Power on the tank and observe if the alarm persists. If the alarm continues, the tank is faulty. If no alarm occurs, the laser tube's water circuit is obstructed. Inspect the hose for kinks or blockages, and check the tank water for debris. (Replace purified water in the tank)

For large laser cutters without alarms:Check if the laser power supply fan is spinning. If the fan is spinning, short-circuit pins 2 and 3 of the laser power supply with a wire.If the laser tube emits light, loose connections on the motion control card or a faulty card are likely (replace the board). If no light is emitted, the laser power supply is faulty. (Rarely, the laser tube may be defective.) (Check for sparking at the high-voltage end of the laser tube; sparking can easily burn out electronic components in the laser power supply and control board.) If the laser power supply fan does not rotate, use a multimeter to test for voltage at the 220V port of the laser power supply. If voltage is present, the laser power supply is faulty. (Repair or replace the power supply); if no voltage is present, check the laser power supply switch and wiring.
