How to Debug a Laser Welding Machine

The debugging of laser welding machines primarily involves adjusting the laser resonator cavity:


1. Check the reference light source: The red semiconductor laser serves as the reference for the entire optical path; its accuracy must be ensured first.

2. Adjust the position of the output mirror (output medium diaphragm): Before adjusting the output mirror, remove the focusing cavity containing the YAG rod to prevent refractive errors from the YAG rod in the optical path from affecting adjustment accuracy. The precise position of the output medium diaphragm should place the red light at its center and fully reflect it back through the red light exit aperture. If not, carefully adjust using the knob on the diaphragm mount.

3. Verify YAG rod installation: Apply transparent tape to both ends of the YAG rod sleeve. Observe whether the red light spot is centered between the two sleeve tubes. If misaligned, correct by adjusting the focusing chamber position.

4. Check the position of the light gate: Manually rotate the mirror bracket to push the light gate to its blocking position. Observe whether the red light is centered on the mirror and whether its reflected light is positioned on the absorption cone at the center of the beam terminator. If the position is incorrect, make minor adjustments. Finally, pay special attention to carefully inspecting whether the light gate mirror is clean. Contaminated mirrors will shatter quickly during use. This completes the partial adjustment of the laser welding machine.


Laser welding machine debugging must be performed by specially trained personnel. Failure to do so may cause damage to other optical path components due to laser misalignment or deviation. Using laser welding machines for workpiece processing enhances efficiency, producing finished parts with an aesthetically pleasing appearance, small weld seams, deep penetration, and high weld quality. They are widely applied in keyboard welding, silicon steel sheet welding, sensor welding, battery seal cap welding, and other fields.
